Abstract

This study examines the improvement of teacher motivation and performance through an organizational behavior approach at UPT SDN 20 Jalamu, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The background includes challenges faced by teachers, such as heavy administrative burdens, rapid curriculum changes, technological adaptation, and an unsupportive work environment, which reduce enthusiasm, learning creativity, and consistency in learning tools. The organizational behavior approach was applied to analyze individual, group, and organizational factors to build a conducive work environment. A qualitative descriptive approach was used with purposive sampling of key informants: the principal, classroom teachers, subject teachers, operators, and the school committee. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation, analyzed using the Miles-Huberman model (reduction, presentation, conclusion). The results show that communicative-supportive leadership, a harmonious-collaborative work culture, effective communication, and verbal appreciation increase work enthusiasm, although competency training needs to be expanded. The integrated principles of organizational behavior have successfully optimized teacher motivation and performance.
